SETI
In SETI Karol Tyminski scapes an experience of the outer space. This attempt of enclosing the uncontainable within the walls uof the Ambrosi Museum in Vienna is performed with the use of ephemeral instruments, which silenced make the evoked presence fade away. This play between presence and absence leads to the fluctuating motion of coming towards and distancing. The longed-for cosmos escapes ones grasp. The performer, in the role of a universe-engineer and a guide, together with the Klangforum Wien ensemble and the music composer Wojtek Blecharz, constructs instruments of both measuring and speaking of celestial bodies, while at the same time exploring the process of composing and deciphering messages which theoretically could be understood by an extraterrestrial civilization.
